To keep your costs down and help as many people as possible I mainly work online.
I'm based near Tortosa and I am happy to travel if standard mileage costs are paid..
I attend the dying or funerals in-person as far south as Benicarlo to as far north as Mora.
I am a Soul Midwife who offers support and assistance to dying people and their family.
I'm also a Funeral Celebrant who honours the life and character of people who have died.
Similar to a Death Doula, a Soul Midwife understands the complexities and emotions of a person who knows that they are dying. I help the person physically, emotionally, practically, mentally, and even spiritually. I can engage with a dying person at any time from the moment of their prognosis, through the final active stages of dying, right to the moment of leaving their body.. From practical hand-holding and paperwork, to talking through fears and beliefs, then supporting people and their carers to understand the different stages of the dying body, a Soul Midwife is trained to help support you every step of the way..
A Funeral Celebrant is a non-denominational officiant qualified to perform funerals or celebrations of life, memorials, and living ceremonies. After the death of your person I can coordinate with the Funeral Directors on your behalf, guide you through the paperwork, and explain everything you need to know. I speak Spanish so can help with translations. A Celebrant is trained to deal with grieving families, untimely deaths, and is very sensitive to difficult family situations.
A 'non-denominational' Celebrant respects all religions and faiths, or no religion if that's your preference. I am not a humanist, nor am I affiliated to any church, which means I can make your Ceremony as unique as you. You can include the Bible or any other spiritual book or we can do an humanist or atheist ceremony..
Donations are accepted and can vary based on the specific services required. Care packages start at 30 euros per hour OR 20 euros per hour for minimum of 5 hours. A normal donation for a funeral (which usually takes more than 10 hours of my time) is 200 euros. Please contact me for more information if you would like a package of support or a bespoke service. Children under 18 and pet ceremonies are free. Mileage not included.
Yes, I offer pre-planning sessions. Let's chat well in advance or even in your final days about your dying wishes (better late than never). Things like how much pain control, do you want to be lucid, hospice or home, who you want around you, who you don't want at your deathbed and much more, For your funeral choices, what you want people to wear, flowers, donations etc, Let me help create your eulogy and/or put in writing your funeral wishes to help your family know what you want. These are all best done in advance when you are not under pressure, but I'm happy to help right to your last breath if it gives you peace of mind to die and rest in peace.
A Eulogy is a summary of a person's life read at their funeral usually written in co-ordination with the family after the person has died. A Eulogy can in fact be written in advance by the person themselves or with the help of a professional- like a Funeral Celebrant. I'm very happy to help pull together your life story the way you want it told. I LOVE writing so let me help you. No-one knows your stories, feelings and experiences better than you. It's also a final opportunity to pass on any life lessons or wisdom you want to share before you go..
I co-ordinate with family members to create a eulogy including those who cannot attend the funeral. I perform the Ceremony on the day, co-ordinating the attendees, the timing and the music, ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible. The person's coffin (with body) will be present and the ceremony will include committal for burial or cremation. Celebrations of Life are a way to share the personality and characteristics and to honour the contribution the person has made to the people in their life.
I co-ordinate with family members to create a eulogy including those who cannot attend the memorial. I perform the Memorial on the day, co-ordinating the attendees, the timing and the music, ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible. A Memorial can be held anywhere as the person's body will not be present. Their ashes may or may not be present and the Memorial may include scattering of the ashes. Memorials are suitable for closure after a 'Direct Cremation' and allow families a grieving space to honour their loss..
Usually created in co-ordination with the dying person, a Living Ceremony is a Celebration of their Life with them alive and present. Whilst this may sound morbid it is in fact a lovely opportunity for the dying person and their people to say goodbye in their own unique way. Imagine having the chance to pay your respects to each other instead of waiting to say goodbye when they're gone. A Living Ceremony can help people to make amends, or see what contribution and impact they have made in each other's lives.
I can help you create a beautiful, poignant, and happy 'This Is Your Life' ceremony. If everyone brings a dish and drinks this can be both the funeral and the wake ... with the person present. What a way to go!
Feel free to send a WhatsApp message and I will call you back as soon as I am able.
